Coffee anyone?

Found this the other day at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Looked it up in my 'pyrex' book and found out it originally came with a candle warmer to keep the coffee hot. Will have to keep my eyes open for one.

It was made in the 1950's in the U.S.A. Oh yes, I paid $6.99 for it. Not bad I thought.

Help Needed: Clear Green Pyrex

Does anyone know anything about this?

Do you know the time period or details on this item?

My mother collects depression glassware and while this is not actually depression glass it matches her collection in color. I thought it might be fun to get her something that would match both her collection of Pyrex and Depression Glass. I'm wondering if it's modern or old. Is new it like the visions cranberry, a crockpot lid, or actually old?

These are the numbers on the lid: 04 PYREX G 6(OR5) C A

Thank you very much. The auction ends in less than 24 hours so help soon would be wonderful!

Pyrex as Props

Well, this note card says it all! Hello! This is Erin, from Erin Ink Design. I am a stay-at-home mom and I work from home so I get to sit and enjoy looking at my Pyrex finds all day long. :) I wanted to share some pictures that my friend Chelsa took for me of my paper goods for my Etsy shop. We had so much fun picking just the right pieces of my Pyrex collection to use as props for each note card or calendar page. Here are a few of my favorites:

Some of my fav small casserole dishes hold up my 2011 Recipe Calendar.

The divided casserole dishes worked perfectly for displaying my packs of note cards both for photo props and at Craft Fairs.

My snowflake baking dish is perfect for brownies, and don't they taste so much better when made in Pyrex???

Just found this butter dish at a thrift store the other day for $2.50 (the cheapest I have ever seen one for...and the first one I have ever bought. That was a good day!)

That's all for now, until I can get some photos taken of my newest treasures. :) Wishing you all great thriftin' this week!

New Finds!

Wow, my Pyrex hunting has been unbelievably successful lately.

I picked most of these finds up at an estate auction.  The above two Primary mixing bowls were a good deal at $12 for the pair.  The lady that was bidding against me stopped bidding and said "I can buy them in the store cheaper than that."  I didn't say anything, but in my head I replied "good luck."

Three Spring Blossom mixing bowls.  Two Cinderella style bowls, and one classic style mixing bowl.  $2 for the set of 3 at the same estate auction that I got the Primary bowls pictured above.

These two Pyrex England pieces in the "Country Autumn" pattern were also picked up at the same estate auction.  The bowls were in one lot, which I picked up for $2, and the lids were shoved into another lot that I had to purchase to keep the set complete.  The lids and the lot they were with cost an additional $2 (things were selling pretty cheap at this sale).

I almost passed this Terra Cotta Rose casserole up when I found it in a flea market yesterday, but the booth was having a 15% off sale, so I was able to get it for $4.70.  Great fall colors for next Thanksgiving.

I also picked up these two Lime Green 2 quart baking dishes at the same flea market.  They were $6.95 each, and I don't really need two, but Lime Green is my favorite color on Pyrex, so I took both of them (plus I get the feeling that these two have spent their entire lives together, and I couldn't separate them now, could I?).  (I swung by the flea market when I drove by it while I was out Christmas shopping - Merry Christmas to me with these two!).

One of the red refrigerator dishes in this photo came from the same estate auction mentioned above.  The rest of these refrigerator dishes came from an eBay auction.

English Pyrex

Recently Erin found a mystery pattern on her recent Pyrex acquisition.  I believe that it is called something like "Brown Vines" but I'm not sure.  Anyway, in the comment section, I mentioned that I thought her piece was an English piece because the shape of the dish was different from American pieces that I have come across.  I also mentioned that the shape was like the Pyrex England pieces that I have.  In response, Erin asked to see pictures of my pieces, so, here they are!  I believe the pattern on mine is called "Country Autumn" or something to that effect.

new colors

my name is taylor and i am a (reformed) pyrex color snob. i used to only collect turquoise and green pyrex (remember?)
well ladies (and gentlemen of course haha) i have allowed some new members to join my pyrex family

i feel a lot more comfortable branching out and incorporating new colors to my "pyrex rainbow" haha
