Wow, my Pyrex hunting has been unbelievably successful lately.
I picked most of these finds up at an estate auction. The above two Primary mixing bowls were a good deal at $12 for the pair. The lady that was bidding against me stopped bidding and said "I can buy them in the store cheaper than that." I didn't say anything, but in my head I replied "good luck."
Three Spring Blossom mixing bowls. Two Cinderella style bowls, and one classic style mixing bowl. $2 for the set of 3 at the same estate auction that I got the Primary bowls pictured above.
These two Pyrex England pieces in the "Country Autumn" pattern were also picked up at the same estate auction. The bowls were in one lot, which I picked up for $2, and the lids were shoved into another lot that I had to purchase to keep the set complete. The lids and the lot they were with cost an additional $2 (things were selling pretty cheap at this sale).
I almost passed this Terra Cotta Rose casserole up when I found it in a flea market yesterday, but the booth was having a 15% off sale, so I was able to get it for $4.70. Great fall colors for next Thanksgiving.
I also picked up these two Lime Green 2 quart baking dishes at the same flea market. They were $6.95 each, and I don't really need two, but Lime Green is my favorite color on Pyrex, so I took both of them (plus I get the feeling that these two have spent their entire lives together, and I couldn't separate them now, could I?). (I swung by the flea market when I drove by it while I was out Christmas shopping - Merry Christmas to me with these two!).
One of the red refrigerator dishes in this photo came from the same estate auction mentioned above. The rest of these refrigerator dishes came from an eBay auction.
I always say this, but I love the fridgies.. if that's how ya spell it.
ReplyDeleteI was at a Goodwill auction once, bidding on a doll my cats broke (!), & there were two people bidding on this guitar. One guy must have been a dealer or something since he had bought 3 that day already & the other person was just some kid. After bidding at $110, kid says, "YA WELL IT'S F'ING BROKEN. HAVE A GREAT TIME FIXING IT!" If that's the case, why would he want to spend $105 (his last bid) on it!?
I think like the kid, the woman was jealous. Obviously out of her budget.
Nice scores.
i should hit up an estate auction one of these days.
ReplyDeleteQuite a haul! and yeah, good luck finding those bowls lady!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how we justify our Pyrex buying, like Missouri Michael: "I don't really need two, but Lime Green is my favorite color on Pyrex, so I took both of them (plus I get the feeling that these two have spent their entire lives together, and I couldn't separate them now, could I?)."
ReplyDeleteIt's not like we need a second of this or that, we just can't leave them behind if they're in great condition!
Lovin your wonderful finds. The lime green baking dishes are awesome and yes they are twins so glad you didn't separate them! Love the fridigies always. I've never been to an auction and I'm so afraid I would spend more then I should. You did really great!
ReplyDeleteOooh that lady chaps my hide! Why is there always a smart mouth one in the bunch?! You sure had quite a haul! I am so jealous I believe I shall turn green with envy. Glad I got a confirmed spelling for fridgies. I'm never sure of the correct way :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice haul! I haven't been to an estate auction in years, but perhaps I should start going to some. I'm sure I've literally missed tons of Pyrex by not going, LOL! I love, love all your wonderful finds!
