Most Wanted?

For a bit of fun, I thought I'd put the following question out there in Pyrex Lover Land: What are the top three pieces of Pyrex that you wish you had? I'm not sure if it's possible to reduce it to three, but have a go.
Can't wait to read your responses.

  2. Oh wow, this is going to be difficult.

Firstly, I want to find the promotional piece from the Lincoln Center (1962).

I would also like to find one of the mixing bowls in the "Eyes" pattern.

Lastly, I'll be practical - I would like to find a Cinderella mixing bowl set in the Gooseberry pattern, although in the black on white and yellow scheme, not the white and pink scheme.

I'll place my bets on eventually getting the Gooseberry set, and most likely spend the rest of my life dreaming of coming across the other pieces!

  3. Wow! That IS a tough question! It's very hard to narrow down but I'll give it a shot.

    1. I'd like to complete my fridge set in Spring Blossom. I need one small dish and the large dish. (I just got the medium sized dish tonight!).

    2. The small Pink Gooseberry Cinderella bowl to complete my set. (My dislike for gooseberry has totally been working out! I'm up to four pieces now.)

    3. Anything in Butterprint.

I'd die for some of the promo pieces like Spirograph, but I thought I should keep my top three list practical =)

  9. I have an itty bitty house and no space, so my list has been focused for a while:

    1) large Town & Country casserole - I don't have anything from this pattern yet but I really like it

    2) Friendship mixing bowl

    3) I have one aqua piece, and would love to find at least one pink piece too

I only ever thrift so I'm it may be a while (if ever) before this wish list is completed, but I'll have fun looking in the meantime :)

  19. As mentioned, so hard to just narrow it to 3 so I will list what I want but know I probably won't ever find (unless I move away from this Pyrex deprived area)
    1. Bride's casserole (1961 promo)
    2. Any piece of Shenandoah
    3. Any Pyrex pattern in a server/holder

Having listed those, I already want to change them to others so I had better post this now before I think too long...

  20. I can't believe I asked for your top three. Like I can actually narrow it down to that number. Like you, I just want to be set loose in an antique barn filled with Pyrex and have 10 minutes to fill a shopping cart...
Here are three I'd be thrilled to own:
    1. Moon Deco bowl
    2. Any piece of Golden Pine
    3. Any Early American piece with the cat proudly showing. I love the cat!

I can't tell you how much fun I've had reading these. Do check out Pyrex Love's list of patterns if you want to dream a little dream.

    1. New Dots mixing bowl set
    2. A lasagne dish, preferably in the Friendship pattern, but I wouldn't pass up a solid red or yellow.
    3. Just about any type with a cradle.

    2. pink gooseberry cinderella bowl set
    3. toss-up between the mod kitchen 1958 promotional casserole and the balloons chip and dip set.

    I said it was hard.
