Latest Haul!
This past weekend I managed to snag 5 pieces of Pyrex for $20! I felt like I hit the jackpot!
My first purchase was at the yuppie thrift store - the divided golden acorn piece complete with lid for $5! The Forest Fancies casserole came from another thrift store for $2. It is in amazing shape. This is my first Forest Fancies piece, and probably my last. I'm not a huge fan of the pattern, but it was in such good shape I couldn't pass it up. Plus, I try to have at least one piece from each pattern in my collection. I picked up the two Butterprint fridgies at a grungy outdoor flea market that is always hit and miss. But, I was there at the end of the day and got a deal on the pair! The larger one was priced at $3, but the small one didn't have a price. When I inquired about it to the lady running the booth, she told me she didn't want to have to pack them up and take them home, so I could have both of them for $3 - sold! (She could have asked $3 for the little one as well and I would have taken it, but she didn't need to know that...). My most expensive piece was the yellow New Dots bowl, which I picked up in an antique store for $10. This is my first New Dots piece and hopefully I will eventually run across all of the pieces without resorting to buying online.
Come join my adventures at the Cul-de-sac Shack!

I have the golden acorn divided dish that I got for a wedding gift in 1965, it is in perfect condition, never in a dish washer.
ReplyDeleteVery nice finds! Especially the Butterprint refrigerator dishes, you can't argue with that pricing.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone had a good weekend. Congrats, especially on those dots which just seem to be crazy expensive right now. I just got my first Forest Fancies the other day for the same reason. I want to have a representative of everything in my collection and I couldn't pass up the minty 401, 402, and 403 altogether.
ReplyDeletegreat finds for you . I found my first at a resale store, it's pink and a large mixing bowl cinderella $3. maybe , I will show it soon
ReplyDeletelove your dot bowl
Nice finds!!
ReplyDeleteCool! I've been finding a lot of "less desirable" patterns, but still pick them up if they are in good shape, too! Some of them in the earth tones just aren't as exciting as the colorful ones, to me, but there are those who love them right now!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of Forest Fancies either. I've been seeing it for sale at antique markets priced quite high & seen it SOLD at a local consignment shop for $70 (bowl set), so I have been picking up pieces here & there for my eventual store (or booth).
ReplyDeleteGood price on the Butterprint! & the New Dots price isn't bad - I paid $14.99 at a THRIFT STORE for my blue New Dots (haha).
