A new (to me!) covered casserole in the Terra print!
Did anyone else find any Pyrex goodness this weekend?

Pyrex Everywhere at Value Village

Hello Everyone, SixBalloons here! We were out of town last weekend in Victoria, BC and we thrifted it up, starting at a huge Value Village.

There I found several pieces of Pyrex, including an Opal Divided Dish, Shenedoah Casserole with lid, and dishwashered Terra casserole.

There were also several glass pitchers and carafes.

There was also a huge pile of Pyrex restaurant-ware in the red and gold trim.

Read more about the prices I saw there, and what I decided to do in the end at my original post. I spotted lots of other great items too, as that was definitely the largest Value Village store I have ever visited. Don't you just love thrifting while on vacation??

Pyrex Tragedy!

Just before Chritsmas, as I was taking out some Dept 56 houses to display around the house....and I heard this heart wrenching crash!

Remember this?

If you don't, click HERE for the whole reveal!

So after the crash I picked up the box and heard millions of glass shards moving around.

GASP!

Since Xmas was just around the corner and I had other things to think about.....I put it off

This week I went and decided to open the box and survey the damage...

OMG I had lost the lid but the casserole was intact. It just fell from 12 inches high and still in the box....
 That's life! You win a few, you loose a few....Oh well :(

Terra Pamphlet

I really had fun reading the pamphlet that came with my unopened Terra casserole and I wanted to share it with you!

All the pieces of the collection!

Useful, practical and beautiful? I want some!

Oooh tidbits on the patio? I'm coming over!

What delicaties lurk in those casseroles?

.                               Was a Luau a big dinner party theme in the 60's?
                                                                                                      Do I see poi?

                                                       See you later, Pyrex Lovers!

Never touched, never used!

I'm glad I bought it and even happier I opened it.

On a future post I will show you the delicious pamphlet!

Once in a Lifetime

While minding my business and hunting for Pyrex in a  Maine flea market....I saw this!

Yep 3 different sizes of  Terra casseroles! As you may or may not know, it is quite unusual to find them and in boxes...WOW AIE CARAMBA!

Pyrex produced a bowl set, a casserole set and a dish set in that pattern. In my humble opinion it was not a big commercial success...Since the paint is matte, it scratches very easily and looks dull.
The price was very reasonnable and I don't have any Terra casseroles, so I'm looking at the boxes and wondering which I should take....And I see that the largest one is still in the un-opened box....

WOW UN-OPENED BOX!!! WOW PYREX MINT-IN-UN-OPENED BOX!!!

Ok I'm getting it! Should I get it? OMG what is that??? A 50% off sign on all in that booth????

OMGOMGOMG THE PYREX CASSEROLE IN THE UN-OPENED BOX IS ONLY 4.00$!!!

GET ME TO THE CASH' GET ME A DEFFIBRILATOR , I'M HAVING A SEIZURE!!!

Ok I survived the flea market...and I was able to drag my ass back to the room....

It's in my room still un-opened.

I'm getting curious....Will I open it? Will I wait?

I shook the box so I know it's not in pieces....

What would you do?
