Hello Pyrex Collective, SixBalloons here! I hope everyone had a great summer thrifting, barbecuing, and gardening... That's what I've been busy with.
I found a great loaf pan at my church thrift for $1.50!
I really like the size of this. It can use a bit of cleaning, me thinks, but I see some banana bread in my future.
Please stop by sometime and say hello at sixballoons.blogspot.com!
I have this same loaf pan, as well as the Lime. I use them for all my baked loaves. Two months ago I was baking and the batter needed three loaf pans, so I used my Flamingo, Lime and another glass (modern) Pyrex. Interestingly, the two vintage Pyrex loaves came out right on time and looked (and tasted) great. The other newer Pyrex glass pan had to stay in the oven longer and it was unevenly baked.
ReplyDeleteEvery loaf I make only goes in the Flamingo and Lime dishes and I'm hoping that on my travels I can find another.
So many benefits to using vintage Pyrex.
Love your shots, btw.
Interestingly enough, I too have a couple of very old, clear pyrex loaf pans. The bread that comes out of them is AMAZING! The newer stuff? Not so much.
ReplyDeletegreat deal! it'll clean up nicely. love the colour.
