That title caught your eye didn't it!?!
Sadly, it's only in my imagination. I can't help but wonder though whatever happened to the fab retro patterns and shapes of the Pyrex of the past? Let's be honest the new stuff is so BORING!!! What executive meeting resulted in the decision "Let's just make plain glass". Boring bowls, baking dishes and casseroles, all look the same.
Lots of companies looking for a sales boost have turned to a new generation of designers to give their products a new lease of life, so why can't Pyrex do the same?
Imagine elements from these fab patterns applied to your new bakeware and mixing bowls...
I think if Pyrex commissioned the likes of Cath Kidston, Orla Kiely, Amy Butler and Liberty of London to give their products a new lease of life, their sales would go through the roof.
Just a thought, sigh...
Certainly got my attention!
ReplyDeleteThere's a few patterns I can think of that definitely evoke those designers:
Black Tulip, Buffet Twins, Gourmet Promo, Medallion, Clover Berry and especially Stems.
I'd love it if Pyrex would reissue some of those patterns. Glass IS boring!
It got my attention too, lol! I think it would be great if Pyrex commissioned some of those designers! But sadly, I don't think it will happen.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOH YES! This would be sooooo great!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what will happen, but I'm crossing my fingers!
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAgree! Don't they read blogs???
ReplyDeleteNot Pyrex, bu Orla does do range of bakeware (expensive but stunning!) like this lasagne dish http://www.orlakiely.com/uk.cfm/house/kitchen/00XH-PME713/14967/_/
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not! If they start making those, I will have to buy them and I will run out of room in my house. I will have to store Pyrex in the bathtub, in the dryer, in the garage, under the beds...Geesh, it's bad enough with the vintage, lol!
ReplyDeleteWell honey
ReplyDeleteget a letter off to pyrex and post your answer. we will all be waiting to buy the new patterns
i agree! these are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a Cath Kidston, Amy Butler or Liberty mixing bowl set! Maybe I should start saving now...
