I still need to clean it :) |
Last week I shared that I went to a thrift store that I never go to, and found a cute, little covered casserole. In that same trip, I found the beautiful lid to the Verde divided dish for $1.99. I didn't get it, because I already have the set, and decided to leave it. WELL....Tuesday I drove by the same little store, and there was a 50% off sign in the window. Gravity again pulled my vehicle to the curb, and I walked out with the same said lid for one dollar! Still, not sure what I was buying it for, I thought it was too good to pass up, especially because I love that pattern and it's beautiful green colors.
So then yesterday, we went to our favorite thrift stores for Pyrex, and guess what I found?!!
THAT'S RIGHT!! |
I am also so excited to report that in the same store, I found my very first fridgie!! YAY!
And lastly, in the store across the street, my daughter found me this beautiful bowl:
I love orange- it's one of my favorite colors! And it's so special, because she found it for me. This was a pretty big thrift trip in terms of finds...I also found my first Vera Wang scarf...you can see the rest of it here!
Good haul! Some days the thrifting gods are definitely kinder!
ReplyDeleteYour lucky day!
ReplyDeleteI hate to burst your bubble, but that scarf is not a VERA 'Wang' - oh no, it is SO MUCH BETTER!!! - it is by a designer who's last name is actually NEUMANN - nice haul 8-)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!!! Congrats on your first fridge...it's a wonderful feeling! We're all Pyrex maniacs here so I feel safe in saying that!!!

Thanks so much for the design tip! No bubbles burst here- I love the scarf, and now I know who to look for :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm enjoying this blog so much. I don't collect Pyrex (yet!) but have a few pieces I kept and have been using for probably 40 years. In the first picture you found a lid and say it matches a divided casserole dish. I have the original set and mine is just a casserole dish, not divided, so it may fit both.
ReplyDeleteI always appreciate seeing the price paid for each item, not just the special bargains. It's helpful to me because I think I am going to become a collector!
Loved seeing my casserole pattern in your treasured finds.
Thanks Suzanne, that's good to know about the casserole, I'll have to keep my eye out. I knew the lid went with the divided dish, because I bought both together as a set a while back. The fridgie I paid $2.99 for, the divided dish was $4.99. The orange bowl was $3.99, and the big green was $4.99. Just for reference! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the orange bowl!
ReplyDeleteI love the Verde pattern also and what great luck to find the top and then the bottom! The bowls are also awesome and yay for fridgies!!! I hope to find a casserole bottom someday also not just the divided dish.
