Hi! I am Laura and this is my first post. I was going to post pictures but apparently my computer is missing them. I have posted some on flikr under the name lelizabeths if you can find them. Hopefully I can find the originals soon so I can share them with all of you too.
I love checking out this site and seeing that I am not alone in my addiction. Makes me feel normal. I started collecting about a year ago and have a pretty good collection going. My husband and friends think I have a serious problem but my super intelligent kids always defend my addiction...err...collection. I have three kids and they all know to keep their eyes open for Pyrex...anywhere. They know to flip bowls and dishes that are white inside over to look for the coveted name. My son even asked his cooking teacher if she would be willing to trade a couple of the dishes at the school with me because his poor Mom needs them for her collection. He swears they are Pyrex, he flipped them over. ( How lucky am I to have a 13 year old boy who helps out his mom?) On a trip home over the holidays both of my girls quickly taught their Grandma the how to's on locating Pyrex at her local thrift store. I think she thinks I am warping my children. In a good way though right???
Till next time, happy collecting!!!
Welcome Laura and yes we do have an addiction. I now have friends tell me when they see Pyrex they think of me! Oh well it could be worse. Hope you can get some photos to share here with us.
ReplyDeletemy friends think i need a 12 step program. either that or they're going to do one of those interventions! hey, we could have worse habits! lsh :)
ReplyDeleteIn flickr, if you click on "share" right over the picture you want to incl in the blog post, in the drop down menu you will find an option that will say "grab the html or bbcode." Click that, then copy the html code in the box. Come back to your blogger post, click on the "edit html" tab located top right above the text entry box, paste the code where you want the picture to be, and then click back over to the compose tab. Your picture will be in the body of your post.
ReplyDeletesome people think addicition, i think it is a fun, family activity! lol
ReplyDeleteSome people collect stamps or beanie babies, we collect Pyrex. It is not, I repeat, not an addiction, it is a hobby, lol!! There, I justified it. It's all good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura....for calling us normal! Welcome aboard and happy hunting.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying very hard to train my 7 yr. old granddaughter, and she's getting pretty good at spotting Pyrex. My son is really the one that keeps his eyes open for Pyrex for his Mama, lol!! I think my hubby is getting a little worried about me, and where I'm going to put all the Pyrex I keep buying, but he'll get over it. Welcome to the collective!
