Hello, my name is Angie and I am a Pyrexahaulic ;)

I must say I feel blessed to be in the company of such amazing, fellow Pyrex lovers! I have been so caught up in my search for Pyrex that I have failed to introduce myself and make my introductory post so..Hi! Here's a quick bio about how I became a vintage Pyrex girl:

  • had to take medical leave for Spring semester
  • spent exorbitant amount of time online
  • began blogging
  • joined Pinterest
  • "met" Jeni , In Color Order
  • got inspired
  • started thrifting regularly at Goodwill
  • first flea market trip on May 7th
  • vintage Pyrex collection started on..May 7th !!!!!
So, there you have it my fellow Pyrexahaulics...the rest is, well, history-in-the-making. I am loving this new passion and my dear boyfriend is totally on board, bless his heart. He will be off for 7 glorious days starting Friday and a-thrifting we shall go...yay!!! I cannot promise I  will blog on a schedule because I'm a bit ( a lot) ADHD. I will, however, promise to uphold the standards of Pyrexahaulics everywhere...my Pyrex will be hunted, purchased, hand washed, dried, photographed, adored, and lovingly displayed to the best of my ability. And, yes, I will share my adventures with all of you..as often as ... Hey, is the Pyrex on my watch list about to end?!!!
Happy Pyrexing!!!
my Pyrex in action...Cobb salad...mmmm, good! I currently have the most Pyrex in Spring Blossom Green and Square Flowers ;)

Green

While wondering around the city today, I found myself in the middle of the 420 "Toronto Hash Mob" pot protest/celebration while getting off the subway at Dundas Square here in Toronto. The scent of marijuana filled the air, people were everywhere. Not somewhere you'd normally find me, I made my way to Goodwill where I found a #403 Spring Blossom Green Mixing bowl (my first Spring Blossom Green) & to complete my primary set, I have added the primary green #403 to my collection. Some might consider my Pyrex a big festive considering the celebration.

Yours truly,

Sir Thrift-A-Lot

PS: I don't know about you, but there had been a Pyrex drought over here! I'm glad the drought is over.

Practically Perfect In Every Way

People often ask me why I have so much Pyrex.

Or if I actually use all of it.

I would just like to point out nine individual pieces of perfectly pretty Pyrex in use just in these three photographs.
Take that, naysayers!

If you're interested in exactly what I was doing with all those lemons in Pyrex, you can read about it on my blog, The Victory Garden: Yarn and Curiosities!

Fab New Teapot

This is our new fave teapot! I first saw one last summer when I bought one for my Dad. It is stamped Pyrex ware for Teamakers Inc. And it comes with a stainless steel basket. My Dad loves it! He loves it so much he wanted to bring it on vacation in Maine, but finally decided against it because of the breakage factor. I love its shape, it's sooooo cool!
Bad pic of the interior :)

Well in December Dan gave me a mission....find another one but this time for us. We were sick of those infusers that rust. I found ours on Ebay for a reasonnable price (the shipping was good too). We now use it every day for our after dinner tea.

Last night I made a celery root and carrot remoulade salad. I choose the Spring Blossom Green to enhance the colors of the salad. It looks beautiful! And was delicious too.

Have a great weekend!

Pyrex Trade!

I made my first Pyrex trade!
My new friend Taylor and I hooked up on the Flickr Pyrex For Trade group and got to talking. You got this? How 'bout this? You want this for this? And so on... :) Finally we decided on a trade. Some people might think I am crazy for trading a coveted Butterprint bowl, but, hey I wanted something else!

I had quite the issue finding a box until I went to Wal-Mart and found these awesome boxes for .88¢! I bought quite a few of them for later use. I packed up the precious Butterprint with peanuts and foam and newspaper. It's not moving an inch!

In return I got this Spring Blossom quart with lid :) I use quarts quite often and I only need one more to complete this set. Maybe someone wants to trade if they have one?? Hehe!

Of course I'm going to add her pretty red bubble wrap to my shipping supplies. Reuse, recycle! So if anyone wants to trade with Taylor visit her Pyrex Flickr trade set and check out my Flickr set too. Have a great day everyone!

Yes I bought Pyrex on my vacation!

I just can't help myself! I didn't have any START THE CAR!!! START THE CAR!!! Poop in my pants, call 911 moments like HERE!

But I found some pieces I was missing.

2 darling fridgies. The one on the right waited for me like a big boy. I saw it on my first week of vacation but decided against bying it because the lid was broken...I dreamt of it at night! So I was thrilled to find it when I came back!

5 Butterfly Gold napkin rings

I must say I had to have this one! I'm quite smitten with the Spring Blossom Green pattern lately...

So that's it for my Pyrex finds!
