Mac n' Cheese

Last night I was cooking dinner and the power went out. Thankfully we have a gas stove so dinner went on cooking uninterrupted but when it was finished I was hampered. I made mac n' cheese and it was so beautiful in my aqua Pyrex. The trouble was my camera was out of batteries and since the power was out I couldn't charge it. There was no way I was waiting to dig into it so I took a camera phone shot. Sorry for the quality but I had to share (the pic not the mac n' cheese)!

I'm not one for bragging but this was the most delicious macaroni and cheese I've ever tasted. It had three cheeses, broccoli, spinach and artichoke hearts in it with a super buttery breadcrumb crust. It was one of those dishes where you just throw a bunch of stuff in it and hope for the best. I'm thoroughly convinced Pyrex is magic and makes everything taste better.

More Turquoise

I got a special present in the mail today...

The large utility dish and the round cake pan...This kind of completes my collection.

I say kind of because there are still the lidded mixing bowls out there that I'd like to get my hands on but they aren't a priority right now, oh and maybe the Daisy orange fridgie...and maybe the elusive "Clover Berry" or "Lucky in Love" casseroles. Maybe it's not so complete after all!

Xmas with Pyrex...

Xmas with Pyrex was a lot more low key than last year...

Last year was a retro appetizer supper complete with cocktail weiners wrapped in bacon...

Maple Tarlets in Pink Daisy...

Tangerines in a big momma Delphite bowl (Pyrex of course)

It's not that I don't LOVE Pyrex anymore but different year, different meal (and Pyrex)...

Cheese fondue appetizer, vintage tablecloth and Pyrex serving bowls.

Bread dressing in Turquoise Snowflake

Fruit Squares in Charcoal Snowflake

Ok maybe I didn't use tons of Pyrex in my Xmas meal...But I sure use it all the time :)

More Pink Deliciousness!

I can't help loving the green and Pink combo! As a teenager I loved the preppy kelly green and pink anything!
This is yesterday's cuke harvest. I already had a big bag in my fridge so I made cream of cucumber.Delicious!

I got this utility dish for 99 cents last year at the Salvation army. It was so cruddy I thought it was really Salmon colored and not that sweet pink I love so much!

Don't forget it's Retro Tuesday over @ my blog Vonlipis Favorites and @ Tracy's Crazy Suburban Mom
