Starburst Pyrex
Dandelion Duet
I recently purchased a Pyrex bulk lot on eBay because I wanted just this one piece. Well, I will use the others, but this Dandelion Duet divided server was what I was really after. Why did I buy a bulk lot when I really just wanted one piece? Well, the seller had four pieces of Pyrex (including the above server) for $6.50 Buy It Now. Shipping was a little less than $10. That's what you might expect to pay for just one piece, so why not pick up a few extra pieces as a bonus?
Unfortunately, this Dandelion Duet no longer has it's lid or candle warmer, but the gold dandelions on the cream colored background sure do look good! The Dandelion Duet was a Spring 1959 promotional piece, according to Pyrex Love.
The rest of the bulk lot? Here ya go!
From the bottom up: Dandelion Duet divided server, a Shenandoah 474-B casserole along with two 441 1 1/2 pint Cinderella style mixing bowls in the Homestead pattern. I like the Shenandoah, but the jury is still out on the Homestead. It is going to have to grow on me, but I'm sure that they will see quite a bit of everyday use!

MY GREEN PYREX!
Hi there all you Pyrex fans! My name is Linda and my blog is A La Carte and this is my first post here, but not my last! I have a large love of Pyrex and have been collecting for about 2 years now. I am a thrifty gal and try to acquire my pieces at yard sales, flea markets and other thrifty venues!
I am sharing with you today my latest find from the Goodwill!
I love this 1-1/2qt casserole
This Verde pattern is one of my favorites
Two more green pieces
Verde in a divided vegetable dish
Large baking dish in Spring Blossom
Two Cinderella Mixing Bowls
#441 White with green and #442 Green with white
These are my green's!
Always,
Linda
401 Mixing Bowls
I have to say that the #401 Pyrex Mixing Bowl is my favourite piece in the series. I feel like a bit of a nerd to say that I have two Spring Blossom 401 bowls; one to use and one to keep in pristine condition. This came about when my dear hubby saw the frozen, concerned look on my face when he was mixing something in my precious bowl with a fork...

I was at Value Village yesterday, and the clerk was unloading new goods in the kitchen area. Yeeps! First I saw an Opal White #441 cinderella tabbed mixing bowl and then... a stack of four #401's: two in the light pink colour, one Butterfly Gold, and one Friendship. What are the odds?

After much consideration, I only picked up the Friendship bowl. I know light pink is coveted, but the paint was quite faded, and get this: I think the previous owners used it as a bowl for paint. The interior was rough and there was dried paint left on the rim of the bowl! Oh that poor Pyrex.

Black Tulip
I made a quick run to the thrift store today on my lunch hour and spotted this pretty 1-1/2 quart casserole with lid. I bought it (and another vintage typewriter, what is my problem?) and was out of the store with goodies in hand in less than 15 minutes flat. Speed thrifting at its best!
Of course, I had no idea what this pattern was, so I had to look it up when I got home. According to Pyrex Love, it's a Black Tulip promotional decorator casserole from Christmas 1957. The only thing missing is the caddy. Does anyone ever find those things?
