Black Tulip

I made a quick run to the thrift store today on my lunch hour and spotted this pretty 1-1/2 quart casserole with lid.  I bought it (and another vintage typewriter, what is my problem?) and was out of the store with goodies in hand in less than 15 minutes flat.  Speed thrifting at its best!

Of course, I had no idea what this pattern was, so I had to look it up when I got home.  According to Pyrex Love, it's a Black Tulip promotional decorator casserole from Christmas 1957.  The only thing missing is the caddy.  Does anyone ever find those things?

  2. Wow, this is a striking piece. You really lucked out. If you don't mind sharing, I'd be interested to know how much it cost.

  4. I love this piece! This would be so awesome on a table. Caddies are hard to find that is for sure. I am trying to get photos so when I see them separate from the Pyrex I know what they are and can pounce on them!!
