Refrigerator Dishes

Hi! My name is Amy and I love old things. Especially Pyrex. I was so happy to find a whole community of Pyrex collectors online! It is really nice to be able to chat with people who get it, ya know?

I have been collecting Pyrex off and on for a couple years now. Recently, I decided to edit my collection, which I blogged about here on my personal blog. I think my favorite Pyrex offering has got to be the refrigerator dishes.

I just think they are so cute and retro. Someday I hope to get to the point where I open my fridge and all I see are nice and neat rows of refrigerator dishes. Although usually if we have leftovers small enough to fit in the little dishes, we don't save it, we feed it to the dog. LOL. My kitchen is decorated in red and yellow with a little turquoise thrown in, so these are my favorites to snag up when I see them in the thrift store or at the flea market.

I can't wait to read about all of the other Pyrex collections out there!

  2. I love these too! I have a bunch I've been collecting for years. I'm so old, I remember my Mom using it when I was a child!
    Love the new blog.

  3. In a dream I'm at a Goodwill store in the middle of nowhere. Just as I'm walking past the crockery section, the guys that work in the back room wheel out a wagon load of Pyrex refrigerator dishes that had been sitting in a box in someone's basement for years without being used. I look down at them. They're in perfect condition and priced at .99 each.
All of a sudden, I'm in a shower with JR from Dallas.
I wake up in a cold sweat. "AHHHHHHHH"

  5. Erin, I'm moving to the Dallas area within in the next few months and I know where there are a lot of antique stores. I'll let you all know what I find, and it hopefully isn't J.R. in a shower, lol!

I wrote a post, upload a picture of my paltry little collection, and I pressed the publish button, but I don't think it posted. I have no idea what I'm doing; this is my first experience adding something to a blog. ARGGGGGHHHH!

  6. Oh, and take note, everyone! See my cute little avatar? That was hand drawn by our own Amy, who is a very talented and generous lady! (I have it in a magnetic frame on my fridge, Amy, and I love it!) She drew me wearing a 50's style poodle skirt at my request, but you can only see my head in the avatar.
