Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Luck o' the Irish!

$2.99 for me pot o' gold, $1.72 (40% off!) for the lid!

So this week I really found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!  Actually, I found two! (For the other one, jump on over here ...) My ten year old daughter found this one for me at our first stop...it is so cute!  As we were walking across the street, I saw spots of green in the window.  I got so excited, but we still had to stand in line to check our bags.  My daughter gave me her bags and ran around to the window.  As she was going, I saw more green on the shelves!  A final sweep of the shelves produced a lovely ode to the official color of St. Patrick's Day (and the arrival of Spring Blossoms!)

$3.95 for the top , $4.95 for the bottom casserole

2 1/2qt oval- $$7.95

$2.95, $3.95 and $5.95 for the lovely fridgies!

I can't even tell you how excited and shocked I was to see all this beautiful Pyrex in one store!  It is all in amazing condition, too.  My little eight year old kept feeling my arm- "Are you still shaking, Mama?!  :)  I do have a few questions for all you lovely people though... Why is the pattern on the small casseroles a lot smaller than the others?  Also, the color variation of the lighter green- is it still part of this set, or did it come with a different set altogether?  I do need to pick up a book!  With this score, I could almost cash in my chips and be done... almost.  :)  I hope you all have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

  1. What a LUCKY day for you :) I posted my solitary green pyrex on my blog also...http://thriftshopkarma.blogspot.com/

I think the difference in the 2 Spring Green patterns is that the larger print with the hollow 4-leaf cluster is the original, and the smaller print with the solid 3-leaf cluster is version 2. They're both lovely!

  4. That's funny, Curtains! I feel bad posting prices, but I know people want to know. When I was posting, I was thinking some might think they are a bit high- mostly for the oval...but I'm really happy to have found them!:) And thanks, Sandra, for the info!!!

  6. Hey Toronto, I feel your pain- I lived away from great thrift stores for 11 years! I'm just playin' catch up. :) I'm sure you'll get your chance!

  7. I LOVE your finds! Especially the square green set! LOVE IT!!!
I found a wonderful perfect complete set of vintage brown bowls with mushrooms on them(don't know the name of the set). AND the Good Will would not take a large bill for payment NOR would they hold them. The whole set complete was $10... I had to leave, and when I came back "The set was GONE,GONE,GONE"!!! I'm willing to BET someone behind me in line bought them(I just hope they have a good home)..."BOOHOOOO"!!! I have NEVER gotten over that!
    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Donna
