Look what Hubs got me last night! Friendship divided dish w/ lid. The lip on the lid has a lil chip on it - other than that, it is in great shape. He told me 'crap, I should have waited til Valentines Day'. I say 'Too late! Once you hand it over, it don't count!' lol ;)
He also picked up this for me to list on my etsy shop (AmysVintageStuff). The issue here - the lids are DBD, the pattern looks nice doesn't it? But this is the underside of the lid - if you look at the top side, the pattern is all washed out (still there, but white). The casseroles look to be in great shape.
I love that friendship divided dish! The Hubs did good!!!

The friendship would have been perfect for Valentine's! Love it- that was very sweet of him!
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog here and I love it! I too am a big Pyrex fan!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new pyrex fan and I'm delighted to find your blog! I recently acquired a large white oval casserole with turquoise snowflakes on the side. I want to put it to use but I'm nervous about damaging the pattern. Do you have any tips for keeping pyrex looking good if cooking with it? Do you use your pyrex or just collect it?
ReplyDelete@ Cushion - USE IT! Makes everything look nicer. I have my DBD's (death by dishwasher) pieces (paint is pretty much gone) that I use all the time, and am not to careful with it. Then I have my really nice pieces that I am a lil more careful with, but still use.
ReplyDeleteYour hubby did real good. That's too bad about the Daisy lids. I have a Friendship lid that's sort of washed out so I just turn it over like you did with yours.

ReplyDeleteI thought you'd say that! I later saw some beautiful baking in pyrex. I'll use it this weekend!
