I picked up this cute Forest Fancies small mixing bowl at a block party sale a week ago
And then found this large pink Gooseberry bowl at an estate sale from this past weekend
After having to clear out room in my Pyrex cabinet for these new additions, I've realized that I really need to start concentrating on collecting sets, not just random pieces. But I guess that's why it's an addiction... How about you? Are you a selective collector or do you embark upon a Pyrex purchase when the mood and opportunity strikes you?
Well, I do think part of the fun is finding a piece you love, then building upon it. But yes, I agree that at some point you have to prioritize or you'll need a separate room to store your goods!
ReplyDeleteI'm making the transition from random to sets. I'm selling my random pieces in my etsy shop and focusing on collecting aqua and I think I've decided on the verde square flowers pattern.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I have the smaller version of the pink bowl. I just buy pyrex pieces I love or will use a lot. I have 4 pieces in the blue snowflakes pattern and a couple of other matching pieces but I love getting lots of different colours and patterns, serious splash of colour when I open my kitchen cupboards :-)
ReplyDeleteIf I find a piece of Pyrex I love I get it if the price is right. Then I try to add to it. I have a couple of bowls and will one day find the other two to make a set. Part of the thrill is the hunt.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of random pieces, and found that I completed sets inadvertently just looking for what I like. The lower the price, the more indiscriminate I am in choosing my Pyrex. My plan is to swap (preferably) or sell the extra pieces and fill out some sets and collections.
ReplyDeleteRandom works for me right now. Love that pink bowl!
ReplyDeleteGreat thoughts everyone! I am trying first and foremost to buy things I will actually use but I can be caught up by a sale sometimes. Sunshine Alternative mama--I like your idea to try to swap pieces eventually to complete the collection!
