Rest in Pieces Pretty Pyrex

We gather here together to remember our dear friend Butterfly Gold 2 Bake Serve Store 473. Although he wasn't with us long, he served faithfully and without complaint; always showing his cheerful, sunny disposition. He gallantly gave his life in service to his family. As he fell from a shattering height (no pun intended) of three feet, he tried his very best to save the soup that was inside but, alas, he could not. Let us have a moment of silence as we remember our dear friend.

Is it weird that I don't even want to throw away the pieces?

you should send a piece to http://ibreakplates.com/ and have some jewelry made out of it. you could always have it close to your heart... *sniffle*

  5. I am sure he is in a better place. He is in Pyrex heaven feeling no pain. I am sure he is looking down and watching over all the other Pyrex on your shelf to keep them safe from harm. My deepest sympathies are with you at this difficult time. Just remember that even though he is no longer serving soup on your table, he will still be in your heart. "(

  6. I'm sure it lived a good life and brought warmth and happiness to many people. I'd say it's in a good place now, but let's not kid ourselves.

    Feeling your pain,
    Erin

  7. *a moment of silence*

he lived a good life with you doing what he loved most - serving delicious food for your family rather than being abandoned and unappreciated at a thrift store. my condolences!

  12. I feel your pain. I lost a favorite Corningware pan recently. Perhaps we need a support group for those of us that have loved and lost.

  13. I more than understand! I remember when I broke a glass of my grandmother's - I actually started calling glassblowers to see if it could be fixed Something you love, that has heightened monetary value besides, with the extra added bonus of not being made anymore...? Oh, wait - I'm only making things worse! Sorry for your loss...

  14. Thank you everyone for your condolences and lovely thoughts. It's very comforting to our family and all his siblings.

@Ana: The necklace is a great idea and makes me want to learn to silver solder for myself.

@Victoria: I've been wanting to learn how to mosaic for a while now...

I'm afraid though, that working with glass would be extremely dangerous and daring. It's not like pottery where the chances of being cut are slim.

@Barbara: I give you my sympathies as well and yes, there should be a support group.

  18. Soooo, if there was soup in it, did you wash the pieces? Not that doing so would be obsessive or anything, well, not for a Pyrex junkie.
