Spice Of Life

Hi all, It's Leah from Storybook Ranch.

I can NOT get enough of these Pyrex *SPICE OF LIFE* canisters. Perfect for storing grains, seeds and dried beans,I will purchase every one I see (if they're dirt cheap, that is!)

It's not particularly a favorite pattern of mine; to be honest, I only like the pattern on the canisters.
The tall canisters are great for corralling small packages.

I currently have 6 in my collection. It used to be 7, until one broke. They make me feel all sorts of calm when I open up my food cupboards. It's as if I'm actually organized.

I wonder if Pyrex makes these in other patterns?

  1. Nice! I think we used to have something similar when I was growing up. Your pics somehow triggered a vague memory, lol! (I'm so dating myself!)

  2. I don't think I've ever seen them in any other pattern. I think these look great in a kitchen also. Love that you can see through them unlike tupperware.

  3. oooh yes, i love opening my pantry and seeing things in glass canisters. i think i might enjoy it even more if it were in pyrex. i have never seen those in the stores though. i see what you mean about the pattern, it does work on the lids, but i'm not sure if they made other pieces out of it as well. i'm sure someone here will know.

  4. I've seen them in solid colors like avaocado green. I've been wanting some for my pantry but I never find some in good shape...:(

  7. Funny, I've never thought of these as Pyrex before now! I guess my love of Pyrex goes back farther than I thought, because I remember getting a couple of these canisters as a promo at my local grocery store back in the early '80s, I think. I loved them then and still use them now!

  9. Lucky you! I have one medium-sized canister in Spice of Life and one really big one without a lid. I would love to find them in the Country Festival pattern!

  10. My mom had a ton of them while we were growing up. I was indifferent about them then & I feel the same way today.

  11. I just came upon three of these as well as two extra lids. One small, one tall and one mid sized. I can't believe the pattern even has a name and that I was able to find it. Do you know when these were made?
